| | I GOT A NEW JOB!
I know...how many times can one person say that? But I did. And this time, it should be for a long long while. I am now the full-time Creative Director for the 2nd Story Church in Peoria, IL!!! It's been a long long time in the works and they announced that they wanted to hire me on Sunday during service which was so awesome! It'll take a bit to transition out of the office job I have right now. Since it's the holidays and things are really busy, they probably won't be interviewing until January, but still, knowing that it's coming is such a great thing! I should be starting for real sometime mid-January! I'm so pumped! I really feel like this is what I'm supposed to be doing. The kicker is that I'm the first person in this position for our church and really, in our area. So it's not like I have a lot of people to look at to guide me. I wrote my own job description (3 PAGES LONG!!! OMG!!!). I'll probably be reading a lot of books and trying to get a lot of input from other people. But it's so extremely exciting!!! I have to admit, it's been a bit of a funky last couple of days though because now that I know it's coming, I want to start RIGHT NOW and every day that I'm not I get a little more moody and crabby...which is not good... I already packed up most of the stuff from my desk at the office and cleaned things up and moved my files so that I can basically just be done when the time comes. It's a little bittersweet because I have really gotten to know some awesome people in my current job. But I know this is what I'm supposed to be doing so I'm doing it. Oh man, how awesome!
Question for those of you out there: If you have ever seen "In Good Company" there is a song at the end of it that has been in my head for 3 days. It's called "Trapeze Swinger" by a group called Iron and Wine. Does anyone know anything about them? Are they any good? Just wondered...
Woo hoo for new jobs and changes and doing things not many other have done before
